THE POORLY TRAINED PROFESSIONALS is the upcoming second record of SMALL STATE after their reunion in 2020. Currently the world is a dark and dangerous but also still a very beautiful place. And while SMALL STATE was always directed to the light side of things, to humor, to the sun and to the positivity in all things, sometimes you need to rethink your approach and ask yourself how you see the world today. While SMALL STATE is still your friendly neighborhood Punk rock band, there is more to the band and their new record. For the first time in over twenty years, the band experimented with new elements and sounds and did not shy away from laying a fingers into wounds. Writing songs about addiction, self-harm or the conflicts raging in this world, was never on the bands menu, but is a necessary piece of a newfound self-confidence as a band and as songwriters. All while conserving their positive attitude. Change is vital. Welcome to 2024. Welcome to THE POORLY TRAINED PROFESSIONALS.
SMALL STATE is a Pun krock band from southwestern Germany, highly influenced by the mid nineties punk rock powerhouses in NO USE FOR A NAME or MILLENCOLIN. Founded in 2000 and on hiatus from 2010 until 2020 the band decided that they still have something to give and to tell. After their reunion the band played shows with a who is who of bands including THE FLATLINERS, WIZO, AUTHORITY ZERO,THE INTERRUPTERS or MUFF POTTER. They even were part of the US Punk rock Extravaganza called THE FEST in GAINESVILLE, sharing the stage with THE BOUNCING SOULS, HOT WATER MUSIC, SAMIAM and THE MENZINGERS.
